Follow Prince Charles Tour offers you a relaxing time in two wonderful villages of Transylvania, Viscri village and Saschiz, both of them World Heritage UNESCO sites, and one of the best-preserved town in Europe and the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, Dracula. In Sighisoara for sure you will feel in the same way as in the 16th century.

The countryside surrounding this villages is one of Europe’s last medieval landscapes, because of this Prince Charles was immediately struck by the precious legacy of this area of Transylvania and said he was “totally overwhelmed by its unique beauty and its extraordinarily rich heritage”, in 2007 he bought a house in Viscri village and from then he is Viscri village and Transylvania ambassador in the whole world.

We will visit Viscri village where we will visit one of the most interesting Saxon fortified churches of Transylvania, which was visited by Prince Charles. Another issue that deserves attention is the Bacon Tower. Here, due to low temperature, was kept bacon and ham supplies of the villagers, each peace beige inscribed with its owner's house number, to avoid any confusion. Inside one of the towers is arranged an interesting small museum which exhibits traditional costumes, tools and other personal items donated by the Saxons who had left the Viscri village.

We leave Viscri village the tour continues with one of the seven fortified church villages listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1999, the village of Saschiz is also in the heart of the Sighisoara-Târnava Mare Habitat Site, identified by the Natura 2000.

The evangelic fortified church was built at the end of the 15th century on the place of a 13th-century basilica. On the hill near the village we can visit the Saschiz Fortress, to reach the fortress we need to hike the hill near the village.

The last stop is Sighisoara where we will start with a good deserved meal. After we will feel more medieval, because Sighisoara is one of the best-preserved city in Europe and the only city in Romania which looks exactly the same way as in the 16th century and it is also the last still inhabited medieval citadel not only in Transylvania but in whole Europe.

Sighisoara is the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, Dracula. Founded by Transylvanian Saxons during the 12th century. Here we will enjoy a walking Sighisoara tour of its medieval center and see its 14th-century Clock Tower, Church on the Hill and the Citadel, we will feel the atmosphere of a medieval city in the modern time.

After a full day of medieval incursion, we will hit the road back to Brasov.
